Ice Moon

In silhouette
The vast monolith in shadow
Then the shift, the hard stars unmask the glow

The crystal capsule
A dry glass sphere
Whose illusory door is a thin crack where
I slip through, white vapor, hot air

My skull shines and sparkles
Throws
White pulsar bursts in the patterns of spectrum
Harsh white halos
Illuminates the chrysalis capture now sealed

And the desperate abyss is clear not black
And all my thumb prints are revealed
Smeared on the inside
And my crystal tears

I have no means to hide
Frozen in the lashes
Rock salt and moon drops

Suspended in the cruel light of time
At the edge where starlight stops
Expires in ashes
